Top Local Tips for Shenzhen
Easy access Getting to china is easy. fly to hong kong but do not collect you bags, stay in the arrivals lounge and get a ferry ticket to Shecou. They will collect your bags. Go downstairs to the ferry departures and get the next ferry to Shecou. Its about 40mins by boat. When you arrive, collect your bags on the quayside, walk up the quay to a small booth and buy a visa for the trip. Warning if you arrive in Hong Kong after 4pm, stay in HK overnight as the visa booth shuts at about 5:30 and you may stuggle to get one. It's not impossible but may take about 2 hours sitting on the quay. Once you get the visa, give the white form to the first desk, the pink form to immagration and then go to the security xray machine, they WILL Xray your kit and search it so no funny stuff inthe bags. Finally, if you are in the Nan Hai, come outthe ferry port and wal to the right, the Nan Hai side entrance is 50ft from the ferry port. Now how easy is that.... If going elsewhere, negotiate the price with the driver
