Enjoyed my stay. Hotel is pretty new. Rooms are value for money as all rooms comes with a sitting area and a bedroom area that can be closed off by huge sliding doors like in a suite. Great bathroom with bathtub next to window. No views to speak of though. The hotel feels trendy and has good F&B outlets. Nothing much around the vicinity but location central enough that it is pretty close to anywhere you may want to go as cab fares are inexpensive.

Top Local Tips for Shanghai

Weekend rates Weekend rate is usually lower, especially if you're a SPG member and go through their website for reservations. Also if you have United mileage and their credit card, you can redeem miles for up to full price of your room rate (if you have enough mileage) when you make reservations through united.com/hotel

Acrobats Definitely worth it to see the famed Shanghai acrobats. Book early in the day b/c the event will fill up during high season with tour groups. Your hotel should be able to assist you and pickup the tickets.

Don't take the metro during rush hour I would imagine rush hour in Shanghai is similar to any other large city/country. Probably around 7-9am in the mornings and around 5-7pm in the evenings, Monday thru Friday. Beware of the crowds during these times! The trains are literally packed like sardine cans and you will get crushed! The Chinese have no shame either. They will just bum-rush the doors and take no prisoners! Be careful!
