- Room is small, but more than big enough
- Very clean and gets cleaned almost daily
- I have a pretty good view from my room and I'm not even halfway up in the building
- Flat screen TV with plenty of channels
- No issues with "smokers" as another reviewer put it
- Not as nice as my place in NY or London, but HK in general as smaller apartments
- Free mini bus transport to the main areas of HK everymorning
- Bed is kinda rock hard, but I've gotten used to it and kinda like it
- couch is small and can't lay down on it
- Kitchen didn't come with all the necessary equipment for cooking, will have to buy your own
- No heat, gets cold at night sometimes
- Gym sucks and restaurant has bad hours (join California Fitness if you come, it costs just as much as others and is very crowded at night, but so are other gyms and this place has absolutely everything you could want)
- 20yards from HK botanically gardens and zoo
- 1min walk from supermarket
- 10 minute walk to central
- No other restaurants around
- Peak tram is only 3min walk away
- Peak Trail, to walk up starts about 5-10 min walk away....
Overall, I like it, if your not in hill climbing shape before living here, you will be when you leave.

We are a family of 2 adults and 2 children - aged 2 and 4. Our children have eczema hence the need to have self catering facilities. Our parents who live in HK checked the place out for us and said it was nice. Indeed they compared it to the YWCA which is next door and recommended it above that.
Our two weeks there we found the following:
1. The location was excellent - 5 minutes from a park and 15 minutes from another park. The main "supermarket" was Park n Shop - about 5 minutes from the hotel and stocks all the usual European foods as well as Chinese food. You can get most places by taxi but for us we enjoyed walking (at least going down - the climb back was harder and we occasionally took a taxi back.
There is also a free shuttle bus to the heart of HK every morning and evening which we took advantage of occasionally.
2. The room was cleaned every day which we did not expect. Having clean sheets / towels etc everyday was nice especially with 2 young children (you need to do your own dishes and our 1st visit to park n shop was to get washing up liquid).
3. The view was suburb. We were on the 15 floor looking straight down on the park and the central district.
4. We found the service very good. We asked for an extra single bed which was there and asked for various thing thought the stay (extra towels - a high chair - you may want to ask for this beforehand as they indicated they had limited availability for highchairs).
5. The kitchen was small but it had a hob cooker/ microwave/ fridge/ cutlery provided and some frying pans. It had cable TV (x2), a hair dryer, a bath with shower, a small safe, and plenty of cupboard space. We managed fine over 2 weeks although longer we would have definitely missed the oven.
6. The room itself was clean but was small. It has a main room and a double bedroom. We paid HK $ 1700 per night - not cheap but checking elsewhere was excellent value for money for self catering in HK.
It would have been ideal for 2 people but after asking for the extra bed beforehand we managed with 2 very young children - they slept on the double bed with one of the adults with one adult on the spare bed. (They had a HK $ 1500 room but I suspect the extra space was necessary for us)
If there were 2 older children it would have been a problem and I should certainly check out availability of larger rooms if that is the case for you.
7. We didn't try the restaurant because of our children's condition and the gym was small but functional. We had an excellent holiday and on the whole we were very pleased with our choice.

1) They do not differentiate Smoking and Non-Smoking floors; my room was ok but my hallway REAKED of smoke.
2) Carpet was disgusting -- would not walk barefoot
3) Bed was hard as a rock, like sleeping on the floor
4) Couches were uncomfortable and old, would not want to "lounge" on them.
5) Air conditioning in room was loud
6) Coffee Shop food was dreadful, and they stopped serving at 9:30pm. 1st night I got there could not get even a bottle of water. No other restaurants nearby, either, so you have to bring food from downtown.
7) Gym is a room with 2 treadmills, Stairmaster, and a few weights.
I would compare this to a rundown Howard Johnson's in the US. Definitely not as nice as, say, a Marriott Residence Inn in the US.

Top Local Tips for Hong Kong
Hong Kong........ Hong Kong is not all it's made out to be, it's very expensive and quite lonely for a single traveller. Tailors abound all over Kowloon but as land price is at a premium, there are no real sartorial bargains to be had. Hong Kong Island has many attractions but scattered around the Island. Kowloon has hawkers hustling you to buy suits, shirts, copy watches, you name it. The night time harbour cruise is very impressive with a synchronised light show across the harbour. A visit to the theme park was only worthwhile to see two Giant Pandas - a very emotional experience. Other attractions are really just so so. Very misty from the forest fires in Indonesia, hot and humid, had to shower twice a day! Perhaps I will go back one day, but not just yet.
Star Ferry & MTR Cabs are plentiful and cheap in Hong Kong but the best ways around are the Star Ferry, fabulous value and brilliant views, and the MTR, efficient, fast and clean.
