Top Local Tips for Hong Kong
Markets over-rated Visit the markets for the atmosphere only, I personally found the goods there to be mass produced, tacky and low quality, the staff very pushy and generally the whole experience uncomfortable. As well as that, if your not an expert in bargaining, or out of practice - beware, you will be ripped off.
Star Ferry An absolute must esppeciallat nighttime - unfofgetable seat arrangements - unforgettable skyline with light show and if you are lucky choose to go around a holiday period.
Great views of Hong Kong If you want to get great views of Hong Kong then go up Central Plaza in Wanchai. It's completely free and yet from the viewing gallery you get fantastic views of some of Hong Kong's main landmarks such as Central, Causeway Bay, Happy Valley racecourse and the Peak. It's not very well publicised and even when you get inside Central Plaza itself it's not very well signed. You just need to go up in the lift as far as you can go, and this brings you into the viewing gallery. If you like good views then it's well worth a visit.

First year service, room and staff ok plus great location meant a return visit. The service has changed to being understaffed and unhelpful and the accommodation has gone downhill considerably. Won't be back.
