Top Local Tips for Hefei

Around Hefei Hefei is a busy city. There are department stores close by as well as small shops. The holiday Inn is very centrally located to many activities. There is a park close by where you can see the local people doing "morning exercises" (looks like Tai chi). Be careful crossing the street. The cars do not appear to yield to pedestrians, and there aren't traffic signals at most intersections. There are beggers on the streets that are very persistent. They even have their children begging. Some of the kids follow you down the street. There is a zoo close by and a few temples to tour.

Adoption hotel This hotel seems to be used alot by agencies that are doing adoptions in Anhui province. While we were there it was wonderful seeing some brand new families that had just been made throught the miracle of adoption and it was wonderful for my daughter to see what it must have been like for her father and I just 7.5 years earlier and also for her friend who was traveling with us, who is not adopted. Hefei has changed very much since I was last there and I wish I had more time there then we did. Til next time then.
