This hotel I found after looking at the internet a couple of hours after I arrived in Beijing. Surprisingly, I didn't know anything about this hotel, aside from it being near where I was at the time I went to look for hotels to spend my 2-Week stay. I was shocked at the price at first since I am not used to staying at High-End hotels, but I did not regret staying here since the service is good, internet connection is top notch and the room was spacious enough. 1 thing I really did not like is that this is far from the train stations.

This hotel was booked over the internet without any other information. It lived up to its rating. I was treated very well, the room was very modern and the food was very good. The high speed internet worked perfectly. The location suited me quite well and the price was very fair for the high level of quality. I would pick this hotel again for travel to Beijing.

Top Local Tips for Beijing

Be wary! Of everyone who wants you to help them with their English. Everyone had an ulterior motive that involved taking your money. Especially when they are 'students' or rickshaw drivers. Make sure you know the exact price before the journey. Best tip is use the taxi's which are cheap. They never speak any English so have the place you want to go written in Chinese. Also be aware that many public toilets are of the standing variety, often with no paper and often unhygienic.

Sightseeing Temple of Heaven, Forbidden City all within $2 taxi ride. Airport will equate to about a $12-14 ride. Tip the hotel staff a buck or two for service and you've made a friend! Badaling area of Great Wall is extremly crowed and dirty....try other area

Taxi's from Airport Ignore everyone who offers you a taxi as you exit the airport and walk out the doors and go and jump at the back of the massive queue of locals. The queue moves quickly and you will pay just a fraction of the cost for transport to your hotel.
