Great Location, Very Good Hotel!

We stayed here while on a China tour in Sept., 2007. The hotel was clean and very attractive. It included a free buffet breakfast daily that was excellent! The room was very nice with 2 High Definition wide screen tv's. The bathroom wasn't very well lit though. The worst part about the rooms here at this hotel are the beds which are hard as a rock! Imagine sleeping on a thin rug on a hard wood floor, and that should give you an idea what it was like. Other than that, I would recommend the hotel as well as stay here again. OH, also, the location is terriffic being within walking distance of Tianemen square and the Forbidden City.

The Pearl Market Remember the best quality pearls are found on the 4th and 5th floor. You'll want to bargain here and they will string your pearls while you wait.
Unofficial Taxi's If approached near a busy tourist attraction by someone offering a Taxi, please make sure they have the 2.00RMB fare sticker in the rear window, have a meter, and an Identity Badge diplayed on the dash.I follishly did not follow this advice outside the Summer Palace, and was taken back to hotel. A journey which had only cost 58RMB on the way cost 200RMB to get back! I was so annoyed with myself as I had already read this advice, but it is worth stating again.
