Excess baggage at the airport if you're a shopper like me, travel light. This guy at the airport (a very important man who's in charge of counting the bag - he didn't even look like an airport security!) insisted the lady at the check-in counter to charge our extra bags. The lady did not really want to since the flight was not full. But we heard the guy said 'Singapore' repeatedly so we assumed that since we're not locals and from Singapore, then we should be able to pay for the excess baggage. But the nice lady advised us to reduce our luggage and put them in our hand carry instead. The guy wasn't pleased. So beware of this man like this. Taxis from the airport to the city should be around USD6-8. Do not pay more. Also, when you go out of the airport there will be a lot of NICE people who want to carry your bags for you. Refuse politely because they will ask for money later.
