Top Local Tips for Paro

Travelling in Bhutan Although Bhutan is definately an adventure holiday - because you are high in the mountains, the roads have 90 degree turns throughout the journey. Also, the roads can be a little bumpy in places (but are generally good). I would not recommend a vacation that spends a lot of time in a car/bus, especially if you suffer from 'car sickness'. Best to base yourself in one place and then explore the country on day trips.

enjoy the monsoons Though it rains during the monsoons between july and August, we had gone end August and were lucky enough to have lots of clouds but little rain.
