Top Local Tips for Baku
Crazy driving Whatever you come to Baku for; do not think of driving a car yourself! The caos in the streets is unbelieveable and driving is better left to the locals. Taxis are abundant, but I suspect a tourist is an easy target for overcharging. No meters, so agree a price if possible. A few words of Russian will be a great help as few drivers speak any other European languages. The same goes for restaurants. Bring a Russian phrasebook!
