Gourmet wine cruise For a really great day out take the Swan Valley Gourmet wine cruise. Very entertaining, lots of wine sampling on the way then an excellent lunch at Caversham House. Beautiful setting in lovely gardens dining under shady terrace with classical guitarist playing. Food was excellent. Not cheap but a great day out for a special occasion.

Mounts Bay Waters Apartments Very good roomy accomodation, excellent facilities, nice cafe for breakfast etc, close to fabulous Kings Park, just 242 steps up Jacobs ladder, not for the faint hearted, but well worth it for the views. Or you can get a free bus, the best public transport I have come across, very cheap, ferries, trams, buses, underground, and trains, you can use the same ticket for all, fabulous!! The blue Cat free bus stops right outside apartments, so a great place to base your trip, no need for a car. But good parking if you have a car.

city centre, no thanks Away from the CBD Perth is fine and Fremantle and Rottnest Island should not be missed. Swan River is lovely just avoid the city centre. This must be the body piercing centre of Oz
