Would you like filth with that?

My partner and I were just looking for a nice, reasonably-priced place to have lunch, so thought we'd try the MWH, one long weekend.
The Good: The service was efficient, though the staff looked bored and more interested in the social contact than anything else.
The Bad: Okay, the tempura-battered fish & chips were fine - nothing to rave about and I got a much smaller fillet than my partner - but for $18AUD, I would have expected more, ESPECIALLY as...
The Ugly: The place was FILTHY. Grotty plastic furniture outside; tired old 'country cottage' style chairs and tables inside (my partner repaired a chair whilst we were there to avoid anyone having a nasty accident); could barely see thru the windows for the grime; and cobwebs and leaves hanging over our food from the verandah /ceiling above...
Some advice to the management at the MWH: make it part of your WEEKLY schedule to CLEAN the bistro area - not just tables and kitchen (which looked fine from where I was) - because it's not just all about the food (though there's plenty of room for improvement there too). If you're going to charge cafe prices, then you need to deserve it. Felt like I needed a shower after leaving there... very disappointing.
Wonderful Stay!

Our room overlooked the pool. It was beautiful. Very basic rooms, but clean and well presented. The staff in the hotel and the housekeeping ladies were all friendly, helpful and courteous. The food was fantastic and good value for your dollars.
The location is amazing; set in a tranquil valley, with tame native birds joining us for our meals and we saw kangaroos just across the road one morning.
You can actually walk to the Mundaring Weir and it's a short drive to other tourist attractions. I'll definitely be going back.
