Excellent hotel at a reasonable price

from graciem
We stayed here with our two children aged 10 and 6 during the school holidays for one night. We had a twin room which consisted of two queen size beds. The rooms were tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. There was a view over the city and river though it was partially blocked by other buildings. You can also get a view over the bay which is in the distance but I think the city view rooms have a better outlook. The bathroom was also spotlessly clean. We went to the swimming pool on the third floor and it was very pleasant with an outdoor area with sunlounges. There is a shuttle bus that leaves the hotel every hour and stops in the CBD and other stops also. Overall whilst it doesn't have the plushness of Crown Towers it was a very good hotel and a reasonably price.

Classy and great location

A very well placed hotel. It is new and very stylish. The staff were very polite and helpful. Direct access to casino and southbank precinct. Beds very comfy indeed and great views of the port or city. I would definately recomend to anyone!

Super clean, great hotel

from Kramax
I decided to try out the Crown Promenade hotel as a Melbourne local over the new years break. This hotel is spotlessly clean, (apart from the windows which were in need of a clean, especially since people would have booked in over this past weekend to view the fireworks), but in view of Melbourne's recent wacky weather, the hotel cannot be blamed for this. I paid extra for a corner room which was a waste of money as it is the same footage as a standard room and the view wasnt much better. All the staff I encountered were very friendly and polite. Room service menu is fairly basic but covers all tastes. Nice food and well priced. The bathroom is lovely and clean and quite large. As with all hotels I visit, the tv remote had flat batteries. Do hotels ever check these things??!! There was no noise from neighboring suites. Overall, I rate this hotel 9/10 and would happily stay there again. I would rate it higher if I could have ordered eggs for breakfast from room service - not an option at this hotel.

Awesome hotel!

When we booked this trip, the website was a little bit off-putting, but this hotel is terrific! Amazing service, really nice people, smooth check-in, great rooms, and if you love gambling, this is the place to stay. The walls between rooms is really thick so you can't hear the people next door, the beds are super comfortable, bathrooms really nice size, and the location can't be beat (right near the aquarium and the tram stops.) The guys at the concierge were always upbeat and friendly and the service was A+! The casino was super clean and had designated smoking sections so the whole place did not smell like smoke like most casinos. We'd definitely stay here again!

Fantastic stay

We found Crown Promenade to be a first class hotel in a fantastic Southbank location. Crown Casino is accesible by a connecting walkway. The room was clean and very modern with everything we needed for a wonderful weekend.
The hot buffet breakfast was excellent. I would recommend to all!!

Fantastic Hotel

Great Hotel. I have stayed at many hotels in Melbourne because we live in country Victoria and go to Melbourne for entertainment with and without children.
By far the best hotel we have stayed at is the Crown Promenade. Nothing is too much trouble, the rooms are great and the prices reasonable for this high standard hotel. The pool is great, and the service excellent.
Would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone, especially overseas travellers, as compared with other places in Melbourne it certainly rates up there and above the best 5 star hotels.

Just came back from a short stay there. Excellent location if you are on a conference trip to Convention Center and Exhibition Center, 5 minutes walk!
The gym, steam room, sauna and pool were excellent, but breakfast is dull, and coffee terrible.
I have attached a picture taken from our room at 23th floor, the rooms are wonderful, clean and cozy.
We had a good bargain - AUS135 per night!

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful

My 3 children, husband and I stayed at the Crown Promenade for what was only going to be one night whilst in Melbourne recently. However, we couldn't bring ourselves to leave once the morning arrived so booked another night (would have stayed even longer but time didn't permit). The room was breathtaking, and that was before we sat on the lounge and looked out the window! I had trouble dragging my 5yr old child away from it. The bathroom, and in particular the shower alcove, was huge; the beds were very comfortable; there was no noise from other guests or rooms; the location was fantastic as was the proximity to the Crown Casino. Housekeeping was very helpful and attentive - even cleaned the room at 7pm when contacted due to one of the children pushing the "do not disturb" button when leaving earlier that morning. Room service menu was comprehensive and yum. I have never stayed in such a quality hotel for such a reasonable price - our deal included a full buffet breakfast each morning, which was mouthwatering. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are visiting Melbourne.

I recently returned from a 2 week trip to Austalia. This was the best hotel that we stayed in. It has an excellent location in the Crown entertainment complex. It is walking distance to downtown. The rooms are elegantly simple and the bathrooms are huge. I swim everyday and this hotel had a nice Olympic sized lap pool which was one of the nicest of any hotel that I stayed in. The staff was fabulous especially the concierge. Clearly a 10 out 10 I would return here in a minute.

Excellent Hotel

Stayed at the Crown Promenade Plaza located just behind the Crown Towers. I have to say that the hotel, the staff and the service was excellent. The rooms were large, clean and well equiped. I would definately stay there again, when I' next in melbourne. As is usual with these hotels, the mini bar was very expensive, but if you are to lazy to go to the bar downstairs, then you deserve to pay through the nose. We only had breakfast at the hotel while we were there and it was good value for money (did'nt get a chance to have dinner as there was so much to do in the city).
The concierge service was good and the staff could not help you enough. I would advise anyone planning a trip to Melbourne to seriously consider staying there as it's not that expensive and in my opinion one of the best hotels myself and my wife have stayed in. (If the wife is happy then they must be doing something right!).

Top Local Tips for Southbank

Colonial Tramcar Restaurant Try the Colonial Tramcar Restaurant for dining with a difference! A very enjoyable tour of the city by night with excellent food and plenty of drinks at an all inclusive price. We went for my birthday and I loved the atmosphere and the singing chef, it was good fun!

use a Metcard In addtition to the free tourist tram on the city loop, the other trams are great and can get you out to St Kilda, to South Yarra and around town really cheaply. Just buy a one-day Metcard and get a good tram map. You'll even find locals will help you if you stare at the timetable at the tram stop for long enough. The 55 goes right past the hotel and you never have to wait long. Remember to validate your Metcard on board the tram when you first use it.

AFL If you are Melbourne during the AFL Season you have to go to a game. Check out: even if you are not a sports fanatic this is an awesome day out with anywhere from 50,000 to 100,000 (MCG) mad Melbourne footy fans. Season starts late May and ends in September.
