Excellent Staff and Service
from missyCavan_Ireland
We were only supposed to stay 3 nights in Melbourne on our whistle stop tour of Australia but ended up staying a whole week as my husband fell ill and was unable to leave the hotel. The staff were tremendously helpful and nothing was a problem. they extended our stay without any hassle and we didn't have to move rooms which was a great help. But what we found to be the greatest kindness they showed us during our stay was that they organised for a doctor to come to our hotel room and see my husband. They turned what could have been a very stressful situation into one of pure relief. I cannot praise Ricky Ng and the staff of the Radisson on Flagstaff Gardens enough. We will definitely be going back! Good location and fabulous views from the rooftop gym and spa.

quiet location opposite flagstaff gardens park and very near queen vic market. dont be put off staying here just because looks like it is "outside the city grid". it is a couple of mins walk to melbourne central and 30 secs to the free city circle tram. rooms were reasonable, bathroom good size and clean. if you have the choice a flagstaff garden view would probably be better than looking out over the city .we had dinner in the restaurant which was very resonably priced and excellent service! the spa and gym on the top floor have one of the best views you will get in melbourne looking out over the sunset and as far as the eye will see to the west. you can also walk out onto a small deck with chairs and a table and again great views. would stay here again.
Nice hotel, nice location
from JohntheLast
Very good location. Just a little bit off the city center (blocks not miles) and it makes a difference in quiet. Good service, good food. Rooms are a bit small but done nicely. Great value for the money. Internet is pricey.
Fantastic start to our honeymoon
from FrankieEB
We stayed here for 3 nights at the beginning of our honeymoon - fantastic hotel.
The staff were fantastic - very friendly and helpful. More than happy to recommend places to eat / visit etc. We were made to feel v welcome from the moment we checked in.
The room we had was spacious and clean.
Take your cossie and visit the spa on the top floor - lovely after a day around the city. Think we were up there at 11pm a couple of nights.
The location is fantastic - we loved Melbourne and hope to return. If we do, we shall definitely be coming back here!

Great Location
from w0rldwidetraveller
This hotel was in a great location overlooking the Flagstaff gardens, its next to the Queen Victoria Market which is great for food it is also near a tram line. The rooms were clean and comfortable though we had booked a triple room, but they don't actually have triple rooms they squeeze an extra bed in. Would stay here again.
Comfortable Stay
from MileageMax
Comfortable stay... rooms smaller than average, but nicely appointed with newish decor. Service very good. Loved the plunger coffee which was complimentary. Disappointed that wireless internet was not free, even in the lobby. If they claim to be a business hotel, then I think complimentary internet should be standard nowadays. There was also no turn down service at night and no slippers provided. Gym was small but okay, spa was great with excellent views. The location was OK but in a quieter area of the city.
Comfortable hotel in the city
from loopylady
We had 3 nights in the Radisson on Flagstaff, early November 2006 and we had an enjoyable stay overall.
Our room was on the 7th floor so we had a good view of Flagstaff Gardens and the city beyond.
The hotel is ideally located within walking distance of Victoria market, tourist bus stop, trams etc

We just returned from an overnight stay at the Radisson, and we believe we got what we paid for, nothing over the top, just a really good hotel. We stay in the business suites and the room had everything needed for at overnight stay, the one negative i would say about the room was the TV was in a strange position, you had too look a little sideways to watch it, but i wasn't there to watch TV.
The hotel is in a quiet part of Melbourne, close to the Queen Victoria Market, and the Telstra Dome is close by (the scene of a awesome U2 concert).
We booked this hotel through wotif.com and as always we made sure a buffet breakfast was included, and we weren't dissappointed, we had a really long breakfast.
The best asset of this hotel is its staff. All the staff were only too happy to help us during our stay, and that alone impressed us. We will stay at this fine hotel again.
Before i go, i must recommend a dip in the hotels rooftop spa, great way too relax, with a awesome view as well!

Borderline....Was a lttle Rad...

Spent a weekend at the hotel, hoping for the very best in international service and quality...Unfortunately, this was not to be the case.
Checkin was excellent and I was impressed with the professionalism of the front desk....
My room was comfortable (with city views) although the bed was not ergonomically placed in the right spot to watch television and the pillows "too" thin. The walls were also very thin and sadly you could hear everything that was going in in the corridors.
Dinner at HQ's was a disaster....orders were mixed up, food was dry and the service "disinterested..." Our waitress was too pushy insisting we order and making visits too often to see if we were ready. We did give feedback regarding our meals and was expecting "Chef" to come out and talk to us. Unfortunately, he/she did not and we were totally surprised. An international hotel should encourage it's Chef to chat to diners, especially if a dining experience is negative.
Upon checkout, my bill was incorrect and it had to be amended.
Would I return???? No!!! There are many other hotels in Melbourne to chose from where the overall experience is better.

Great Hotel and Wonderful Service

I travelled down to Melbourne for work recently and really enjoyed staying at the Radisson. I stayed in a Standard guest room and, while the rooms are not huge, they are definitely very comfortable. The bed, especially, is very comfortable as far as hotel standard beds go.
The most striking feature of this hotel is its people. I did not come upon a single person who was not willing to go out of their way to help. I arrived in the morning before check-in time, and by the time I came back, my bags were already in my room. In addition, any query I had was answered with pleasure.
While the only downfall would be the location (it's in the north-western corner of the City Centre), I will definitely be staying at the Radisson again next time I'm in Melbourne.
