The hotel got off to a bad start by failing to provide the airport pick up we had paid for saying they had not confirmed it when we had the confirmation on our itinerary. We had to pay for another transfer but thankfully the hotel reimbursed us for that.
The first room we were given was small and old despite being given "one of the larger rooms". Decor was 70's and all the fittings were from that era complete with mirror above the bed. The bathroom light did not work so we were given another room of similar quality. The bed sloped, the walls were paper thin and my wife told me she heard the person on the next room using the toilet quite clearly. That combined with the location on the downhill slope on the main street used by the logging trucks meant for a very noisy night minus sleep.
We had paid for a full breakfast but were informed that we could not have hot food and cold food as that would be "2 breakfasts". After expressing out disbelief we were finally allowed to have the "full" breakfast.
This was the last straw and we decided to find another hotel nearby and checked out that morning.

From & to the airport Take the Airporter shuttle bus. For $20 AUD return, they'll take you right to the door of your accomodation. Call them the day before you leave and they'll pick you up and take you back to the airport with plenty of time for check in. Possibly even with a good yarn or two.

Taxi shortages If you're departing via the airport and using a taxi to get there, make sure to book a taxi well ahead and allow plenty of time in case the taxi doesn't arrive. The trip to the airport is usually quick and the drivers friendly, but frost and traffic incidents can sometimes make the trip slower than anticipated.
