Dirty hotel, Checked out as soon as we could find alternative accom

Was rather surprised at the condition of this tired hotel but more than that was horrified at the state of housekeeping or rather lack of it. Had to call housekeeping before I could use the bathroom, and the staff were not too happy to come and clean. The small and dirty balcony did not have any outside furniture. The carpet was stained and didn't look like it had been properly cleaned for quite some time. The furniture was broken. The swimming pool which we didnt get into because of the slime around the tiles which had written in it "Yuk this sucks". The beds were clean and comfortable. We only stayed 1 night as it was a public holiday and checked once we had found some where else, which was similar in price but excellent.

Good Budget Hotel

Stayed 1 night, booked from the Internet. Pleasently suprised, rooms large and clean, large balcony, good value. Very cetral near to train station and botanic gardens. Buffet breakfast expensive but good, nice terrace to watch the world go by, would stay again.

Very average hotel

Fortunately we only stayed here for one night in October on our way to the Whitsundays from Manchester, UK. The staff were helpful, but the hotel is in need of some serious renovation. Somebody told us it was built in 1964... and it showed. The corridors are painted a yucky yellow on top of woodchip wallpaper, and it looked very seedy. The room was fairly big with 2 single beds, but the bathroom was very basic, and our view was over the back (see photo), even though I booked ages in advance over the internet, and asked for a room with a view. This was our first ever nights sleep in the Southern hemisphere, and it wasn't very memorable. To end on positive notes, the buffet breakfast was the highlight, and as I'd told the hotel when booking that it was our Silver Wedding a few days later, there was a complimentary bottle of wine in our room on arrival. Sorry, but wouldn't recommend to anyone unless you have low expectations. Steve.

Good Location

Location is convenience. We can easily walk to Queen Street Mall and Roma Street Train Station. Room is big but old; and lavatory is smaller than normal. Buffet breakfast is OK.

My husband and I stayed at the goodearth last year and loved it.So we didn't hesitate in booking the goodearth for 12 nights this year.It is such great value.The rooms are lovely and clean and bright.The staff are the nicest and most friendly and helpful of anywhere we've stayed.The views from the rooms are fantastic.Big Big thumbs up to the goodearth-we'll be back................A tip-there is a city loop bus that stops right outside the hotel from 8.30 am it takes you straight to the queen street mall(a couple of minuet trip)then you can get it return and get dropped off straight outside the hotel............

Hate the hill. Liked the staff

I must be getting old 'cos I hated that drag up the hill. The staff at the hotel were very pleasant and helpful. The rooms were nothing special with no extras such as shampoo etc. The breakfast was very nice but the evening meals were overpriced and not very appetising at all. Luckily we found a nice restaurant next door, where we could get a nice meal at a reasonable cost.

Goodearth, Good Gracious!

This hotel is in a superb location with superb views (people with mobility problems may find the drag up the hill a bit steep) has helpful and friendly staff but is in dire need of a significant refubishment. The rooms are grubby and a bit on the dirty side. Got all excited when we were offered free upgrade to suite.............but it just turned out to be a bigger grubby room.

Luckily did not spend much time at the hotel as there is so much to see and do in Brisbane. If you have a thing about cleanliness book elsewhere!

Nice hotel - nightmare car park

I stayed one night at the Goodearth Hotel with 3 friends, towards the end of our trip to Australia. The guest rooms were big and spacious, as was the bathroom, and we really like the large balconies. It was also in a fairly quiet location, so no traffic noise even though we had the balcony door open all night.

Our main (and only) complaint was the nightmare car park, with huge pillars everywhere. We had hired a large car, which proved problematic even for our most experienced driver. The pillars all had car paint and gouges on them, so I guess we weren't the only guest to have had problems!!

However, the breakfast was good, and the location very convenient, so all in all it was a good one.

Resonable hotel

Stayed at the Goodearth hotel for a couple of nights in July, 2004. Was looking for a reasonably priced hotel, not too far from the city centre and the Goodearth met my requirements. Is approx a 10 minute walk to the main shopping area and Roma Transit Street Centre. Double room with ensuite facilities was spacious, but dated and in need of an upgrade. Breakfast was not included so ate out instead. Hotel was as expected fine with no frills.

Man Made beach Area on Southbank Take your bathers and get down to the man made beach area on southbank - great for an afternoon dip there are lockers and changing rooms and a market on friday evenings lovely to relax after a busy morning site seeing /great places to eat of an eveningcurrentnly building a childrens boat area next door also in a pool so will be great for kids when finished

Lovely gardens great markets Nice hotel for a relaxing holiday

Go to GOMA Gallery of Modern Art is well worth a visit as is the museum. All these are conveniently located in South Bank. Easy parking and a short walk to a number of attractions.
