Top Local Tips for Brisbane

Intimidating but Easy! The public transportation may appear to be intimidating at first according to the guide books but it was actually quite easy and the bus drivers and ferry staff were very friendly and accomodating. For around $6.80 (AUD) covering 4 zones, you were able to ride the bus, ferry and train unlimitedly for the whole day. We were able to go to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary 11km away from the city center using only public transportation which I would highly recommend. I did feel a bit rushed with the koala cuddling session in which we paid an extra $15 per person for the privilege to do so. If you just want to touch a koala, go to one of their informational programs and you will get to pet but not hold one for a longer amount of time.
