Top Local Tips for Sydney
if coming from the airport.... While some hotels offer free complimentary shuttles, if they don't or you simply forgot to book one, like I did, then you'll probably think about using the shuttle guys that are standing by the door. My suggestion is to use the rail system instead, it is conveniantly located adjacent to tthe domestic and international terminals. Plus you can purchase a round trip ticket and use it on your return, even if it is days later to the airport. There are stations conveniantly located everywhere, and with trains leaving quite frequently, it will actually be faster than paying 10 AUD for the shuttle. Traffic in Sydney is quite busy all times of the day. Unless of course you want drop off at the door service, then use the shuttle. The most you might walk is a block or two however. I stayed at the y on the park where the station was on the end of the street, so it was convenient.
Govindas agreat vegetarian experience Govindas, on Darlinghurst Rd (Kings Cross end) is this Vegetarian's idea of food heaven!! A For $17 you can help yourself to as much as you like from a great choice of dishes. As a veggie, i'm not used to being able to have everything on the menu so it was amazing!! There is also a cinema so for an extra few $$$ you can have dinner and take in a film.Do check out their website to see the interesting seating arrangements!!
