Lovely room, friendly and helpful staff. Arrived in Sydney early in the morning, no problem checking in straight away. Easter Eggs appeared in room. Within walking distance to all major attractions. We had a brilliant weekend, Thanks

The rooms are spacious, with all standard facilities. Staff are friendly and willing to assist.

I loved my stay and would come back in an instance - the staff was friendly and helpful (especially with using the business centre), the accommodations were superb (and very convenient), and the food was great.

We stayed at this hotel during a trip around Australia and could not have been happier with the standard of accomodation. For a large City centre hotel the rooms were of decent size and clean to an exceptional standard. Staff we helpful (despite being really busy for the time if year, they helped us organise our New Years celebration). Well worth the few extra pounds. I believe that there is a customer laundry room too, although we did not use it during our stay.

A number of the rooms (may even be the majority, in fact) look into the central atrium of the hotel. This equates to no fresh air and a permanent state of twilight. Whilst the exterior of the hotel is impressive, the interior could be that of any large international hotel. Charmless. The rooftop pool is evidently there to satisfy rating criteria, not guests needs, being more like a large bath tub.

We stayed at the Grace when nearly all of Sydney seemed to be booked out, probably because the Wallabies were playing the All Blacks...our double room offered no view but was clearly right in the centre of town, just stumbling distance from Paddy's bar where a British band were playing a free gig that night. Being so central meant that even before breakfast we could pop over to see the start of the Hyde Park-Bondi fun run or do some late night shopping on our way to dinner.
The Concierge seemed to find organising bags to rooms a little difficult so we took our bags up ourselves. THe gym is well equipped and usually empty but we were disappointed with the size of the indoor pool and whilst we were there neither the Spa nor the Sauna was working.

Convenient location but quirky

My wife and I stayed at The Grace last night on 10 Sept 05. We booked over the internet using Hotelclub. Its a very nice hotel but not exceptional. When we arrived at 1pm our room was not available but not a big deal as it is a 3pm check in. When we came back at 3pm out luggage had been placed in the room but it was a twin on the 4th floor so we were surprised as we had booked a double. We then checked with the front desk and were told that we had booked a twin. After I mentioned that I had a voucher clearly stating a double I was put on hold for over 5 minutes. Eventually they came back to me and told me they would call back soon. After another 15 minutes they did and apologised for the delay and we were upgraded to a luxury room on the upper floors. This room was excellent with a separate table and additional furniture plus 50% larger. The bathroom was excellent but lacked towel rails and cupboard space.
On check in we were given only one key and not offered a second. This was not a problem until I visited the pool/health club on the 11th floor which needed a key so I had to go back to the room, change and go down to the front desk to get another key as my wife needed the first key to keep power and lights on in the room. The front desk was undermanned and I had to wait over 15 minutes to obtain another key. The pool is a lap pool and quite sufficient for a dip. The gym is all you could ask for and empty.
We were given a flyer on check in offering breakfast in the cafe between 7 and 8.30am 7 days a week at $9.50 a head which we planned to take. When we went down there on Sunday morning at 7.45 it was closed and nobody seemed to know why. We found this extremely annoying and misleading as later we were told the cafe opened at only 8am on weekends. The breakfast flyer offered a full hot breakfast but when we eventually sat down at 8.05 it seemed that we could not have orange juice and coffee combined for some odd reason. Again we found this annoying.
The parking at $35 is OK but space is severely limited with only 60 spaces and if you do drive out you may not get your space back. This meant we did not use the car after we arrived. I would stay here again but the hotel does need more check in staff and slightly better management. Overall a pleasant stay.

My husband and I decided to get married away from all our family, on our own and in a strange country. Welcome to The Grace Hotel and Sydney Australia. We arrived before the room was ready and the staff offered to look after my wedding dress and our luggage while we started our adventure, putting the luggage in the room before we'd even returned. Everyone couldn't have been more friendly, giving us ideas of places to visit and even offering a bottle of champagne as congratulations on our marriage. The art deco facade gives the hotel great presence and makes you feel quite special without forcing you to dress up for dinner or breakfast. The hotel is a great base to walk to either Darling harbour or Circular Quay, shopping is easy at the numerous shopping arcades. Excursions are easy to plan and the hotel has loads of brochures giving additional ideas. We took a trip to Hunter Valley (much easier by mini bus than driving as this way you get to really sample the wine!), ferries to just about everywhere and ate like the locals in the Botanic Gardens - Can't wait until our next trip back.
Very much a business hotel

Whilst on holiday in Sydney we stayed at The Grace Hotel which is primarily a business hotel in the business district for five nights. Although the hotel is slightly impersonal the room was good with a well stocked fridge and complimentary tea and coffee and the bed was large and extremely comfortable. The bathroom was good and again was well stocked with toiletries if required. The air conditioning needed to be adjusted upwards but the controls on the wall were extremely easy to operate so there was no problem in adjusting the temperature. The breakfasts were rather expensive but as we had been given a ticket for a reduced price so we took breakfast once on the second floor and the service was good but the breakfast although okay was nothing to really write home about. On the second day we took breakfast on the ground floor just off the lobby and it was cheaper and freshly cooked so much more to our liking. The staff were all helpful and the concierge was happy to offer lots of help and advise where to visit. All in all a pleasant stay.

I highly recommend this hotel, the rooms are well equipt and the beds are really comfy (soft). I have stayed here a few times on business and it is yet to dissapoint.

Excellent location for shopping and tourist activities. Rooms are fine - very comfortable. Reception service was excellent. Bistro service was appalling - very slow, even when not busy. House bar closed at 10.00pm on Saturday night. Not open at all on Sundays! Bistro and bar facilities let the hotel down.

We stayed a week here and couldn't be happier. The bed was sooooo very comfortable. The bathroom was large and the water pressure was awesome. We stayed on the top floor (of hotel room floors -- the 11th floor was the pool and gym), and had very quiet room.
Only had one problem with the drapes, and with a phone call that was quickly resolved. There aren't a lot of tv stations, but there is CNN and international news. The fridge is small, and filled with minibar stuff. We took out the minibar stuff and used the fridge for food/water, as there's a Coles (supermarket) 2 blocks off.
Free internet access in the business center (albeit slow speed).
Friendly staff at the conceirge and reception. Very central location...close to the QVB shopping and Darling Harbour. Took a bus from George Street (one street over) daily to the Circular Quay area, from which we could catch a bus, train or ferry to wherever we wanted to go.
Highly recommend. Check wotif.com for rates, too.

Vegetarian Restaurant There's a great little Thai Vegetarian restarant called Peace and Harmony on Erskin Rd, just 5 mins walk away and you can find the smaller/takeaway sister restaurant on King Street, which is even closer! Enjoy!
Sydney Harbour Bridge If you are looking for an inexpensive way of taking in the great views of Sydney Harbour from the bridge but don't fancy doing the bridgeclimb which is quite expensive there is an option.....You can climb to the top of one of the pylons for only A$9 it has a large viewing platform that allows 360 degree views over the city.
