This hotel was not what we paid for. I feel this is not a 3 star hotel at all and we were not impressed with the poor service. The unfriendly staff and cold atmosphere of this place. The rooms were quite poor and the aircon dripped all night . The place is unmanned at night and we felt like we were in a hostel more than a hotel. Though most hotels make u feel welcome, not this place. Poor, poor, poor not staying again. The only thing that made it ok was it was near a train station. Very bad value for money.

The Metro Inn Edgecliff was not a 3-star hotel as I was led to believe - there was no desk clerk after 9 pm, the elevators were extremely noisy and would wake me up when someone used them during the night, the windows would not close and I was concerned for what may fly in during the night, e.g. bats. The original room given to us had a closet with a water heater in it and therefore unusable and we were there for 5 days so that was not good but they did change the room on request. I definitely will not recommend this hotel to anyone. I did not expect the Ritz but I did expect a bit better than what this hotel was.

Do the Ghost Tour! I didn't know that there was a ghost walking tour! There is in the "rocks" on the harbour. Check with your hotel's lobby for the brochure. It's about a 2 hour walk through the rocks learning about potentially haunted location -- but even if you're skeptical it's cool to see the houses from the 1800s, and learn about some of Australia's colonial history in a pop-culture sense.
