basic motel, cheap with a million dollar view. across the road from water, walking distance to shoal bay resort and pub/restaurants/shops. what it lacks in luxury it more than makes up for in location. peter the manager is a gem!
nothing better than enjoying a quiet drink on the large verandah while taking in the view.
i take my own toiletries and dryer when i travel so it doesn't bother me that they aren't in the rooms. inground pool is great for kids. quiet, clean, perfect cheap stay. i have travelled a lot, but i still return to santa catalina every year for weekends. have been staying there for over 20 years.

Not a bed & breakfast motel, not even a motel. These are a group of 12 self-contained Holiday Units, (six upstairs & six downstairs). Very quiet street with swimming/boating bay across the road, and walking distance to small shopping centre with shops,restaurants, pub & club in Shoal Bay.
Very basic accommodation: Bring your own.
No phone, no hairdryer, no shampoo. No cupboards in the bathroom, old fashion bath/shower combination, handsoap, bath & handtowels & face washers supplied.
1 double bed & 2 single beds, linen supplied,colour TV, air conditioner plus ceiling fan.
Fully equiped kitchen (cups,plates,cutlery,saucepans etc), with full size fridge/freezer,stove, microwave, built-in kitchen table & 2 chairs, & 2 single lounge chairs.
Large outside wooden table with bench seats, shared BarBQ, on large wooden verandah(upstairs).
Inground pool.
Clean & not expensive.
