Top Local Tips for Dubbo

Dubbo zoo I went to Dubbo zoo for the 100th time with friends and it is awesome! It's a huge place and you can either walk, ride a bike, hire a little cart or drive your own car around! You go from continent to continent as you travel around road. There are heaps of hands on tours like hand feeding lions, tigers and girrafes and African tour where you get to feed Rhino's and see behind the scenes of the exhibits! During the day there is plenty of animal talks and feedings by zoo keepers where you can ask questions. This is great for kids as a educational experience and for any animal lover! There are minimal fences and they are manly out of view so it looks like you can just walk up to the animals. Just like a safari! Food is expensive so take your own or plenty of money! It's a great experience!

W.P Zoo, Dubbo Gaol and Dubbo Pool The Zoo is great, but I think one day is really enough. I think they say "Your ticket it good for two days" so you don't feel so bad that you just paid $100 to get in. The Gaol was fantastic. They have a sheet for kids to do, to find clues around the place and we happily and effortlessly spent two hours (on a 42C day!) wandering around finding out all these really interesting things. It was great, I would highly recommed it for families. The pool is THE BEST! A huge olympic-sized pool which you are actually allowed to dive, bomb and jump into and a fantastic little pool for the young ones. A double waterslide just ties it all up and in January, when we went there, it is THE place to be. Bring your esky and snags as they have BBQ's too! Just like the old days!!
