Get up earl;y to see the canyon and the sunrise The reason you stay at the Kings Canyon Resort is to visit the Kings Canyon. This is a truly memory making, awe inspiring experience – and is the real reason you should be staying here. Find a guide who is willing to start in the dead of night so that you start to climb to the top of the rim just as it is becoming light. It takes 3+ hours to complete the rim walk, including the essential side trip to visit the “Garden of Eden”. You will see kangaroos; a heart stopping sun rise; incredible geology and beauty too difficult to describe. An early start will mean that you miss the crowds – and have the chance to appreciate one of God’s great natural wonders in peace and quiet before the major heat of the day. For those of you with a good level of fitness (it’s not an easy walk), don’t hesitate – just do it, and enjoy!!

Walks Dont' leave the canyon walk till the afternoon. It's long, hot and dry and best done in the morning.

Kings Canyon Walk Start out early in the morning, the longest walk is a minimum 2.5hrs, while it is not extremely taxing, the start is difficult and the heat of the day would make it much worse. BUT this walk is certainly worth it!
