West from Glen Helen, via Mereenie Loop to Kings Canyon, the road is rough dirt with plenty of corrugation. Best taken at speed with a vehicle with good suspension. Some sand drifts at the Kings Canyon end make for slides, but the track is very wide giving options for the best route.
