Staying at Carotel was an ok experiece, nothing to brag about. I stayed in the Villas which were quite nice though the fold out bed did half break. Because I was with a school,eating in the dining hall with other groups was quite hectic. The staff were constantly hanging arould like flys to try and gather up our plates as soon as we were done which was rather annoying. All the students were directed to a seat for every meal like a 4yr olds which was insulting. Quite often the cook was very rude in the things he said to students. The dinner meals were very nice but perhaps breakfast could have more variety from scrambled eggs every day and dessert too, not just ice cream or frozen youghert. Lots of improvement for the kitchen but rooms were standard.

I found this place adicit for staying in since the bed i will say were a bit lumpey but hey thats life

It was the worst hotel i have ever stayed in. The service was OK, but everything else was crap. Budget, no, it is worse than budget. A hobo would expect better sleeping outside the melbourne myers. There was a bunch od dodgy people staying there who frequently yelled abuse and tried to get in. I felt like comitting suicide, im sure some people have left there mark in the bathroom.

We were charged $100 for a $49 room. If your idea of luxury is extension power cords draped across the wall (photo included), moldy paint on the shower walls and being woken at 0730 by long haul trucks departing, then this is the place for you. Otherwise stay well away. The bathroom has a placard asking guest to curtail sow times to save water (a laudable aim) yet the owners have not seen fit to invest in low-flow shower heads. This property is tired, run down and in need of a bulldozer. One plus: The reception staff were friendly.

While the service was okay, we first booked into a budget motel room for $85 night. We did not expect much for this price but yuck- it was dirty, very very used- old and even had rat sack within our children's reach. The beds were all bumpy/ lumpy, carpet stained and patchy and the bathroom and kitchnette thing, well to put it simply- gross. Having already paid we asked to see their cabins for $160 a night. These were newish but in need of a very good clean. There was rubbish all over the place. The hole place (inside and out) needs some serious TLC. The pool was disgusting and cloudy. The hole experience was very disappointing and I would never recommend anyone stay there, unless of course it has a major cleanup, then I might recommend staying in a cabin but for the money you could probably find somewhere much nicer.
