As a tour operator, I stayed here with three groups in three weeks during Floriade. From the booking inquiry to check in to check out, everything went great, The ladies at reception couldn't do enough for my passengers and those breakfasts on the first floor, nobody went hungry. Considering it's age, it offers comfortable, clean but basic ensuited rooms that met my groups needs. To all thankyou, and I look forward to my next visit, solo or with a coach tour, and it's location just made it perfect to get to every part of Canberra easily.

Dirty little grotto located in north Canberra. Rooms old and very dirty. false and misleading advertising, actual hotel is nothing like their website states. We had booked a serviced apartment and were handed keys to what looked like the broom closet. you Live and learn I guess.

My stay in this Canberra motel was absolutely shocking, from being checked in by a rude abrasive receptionist to very poor room inclusions,ie no face washer, rubbish bin had previous guests contents in it,and the room just looked uninviting. The lighting in and around the motel is very poor, certainly not very safe at night.I decided to checkout early and left sunday morning, this was an experience in itself, the receptionist demanded to know why I was departing after only spending two nights in the hotel and as I had booked through a online website she abruptly announced that there would be no refund.Accepting this and not wanting any more abuse I asked if a taxi could be called so I could leave, the receptionist completely ignored my request and told me to use my mobile phone.Very rude and upsetting experience to say the least.Canberra itself is a very nice place to visit just avoid the Belconnen Motel.

We stayed at this motel in Canberra for one night, that was enough.
The check in staff were OK, but the motel is overpriced for the standard offered. The room was very basic, dull and drab and I doubt if anything has been done to the place since it opened in the mid 1970's, including the cleaning. Only two towels were offered, no hand towels or face washers, torn sheets and no tissues in the box. The TV was very basic with no remote and only 4 channels offered. I know this may sound petty but for $120/night you expect more than the average.
Check out staff were rude, refusing to give me a seniors discount when it is advertised. When I listed my complaints and advised that other motels in Canberra can be obtained for about half the price I was told to go and stay there next time.

For the high price not even all basic facilities were available. My room did not have a security chain on the door, a dripping tap in the bathroom, one light above bed not working, no locks on 2 connecting doors. The fridge door was dirty and one shelf had a crack in it (a breeding ground for germs) and the milk had been left in it from previous occupant. The kettle lip was broken and had a jagged edge, it was filty inside and outside had never been wiped down. The carpet had not been hoovered. There were no hand towels or face flannels. No "Help me to help you" slips in room and when asked at reception a pretence was made to look for one, in the end I was given a piece of paper. I asked for a discount but was told I couldn't have one.

Price was high for the crappy hotel (not even a proper hotel). Rooms were old and run down. Stayed one night and left.
