My second stay at the Van Loi Hotel was just as satisfying as my first. The staff is young, friendly and try their best to make your stay enjoyable. The rooms are spotlessly clean and the food is great. The price is modest but the service is top shelf. Evenings at the Star bar located on the hotel's rooftop terrace is a highlight for me. The location in Cam Nam Villiage is the best part as you get to see Vietnamese culture as is and as it is becoming. For those who do not want to be isolated from the everyday life of the Vietnamese people the Van Loi Hotel fits the bill.

We stayed at the Van Loi as part of a family tour. Although it's by no means luxurious, we found it to be ideal for our needs. The rooms are clean and quite spacious. Initially the tiled floor didn't look inviting but turned out to be practical for wet feet from the rainy days and the lovely pool right outside our door (book a ground floor room). The hotel is on an island about 700 - 800 metres from the old quarter along a dirt (muddy) road - the hotel provides coats or umbrellas for the frequent jaunt back and forward. There's free, if a little slow, internet access in the foyer and a restaurant on the roof with stunning 360 degree views that serves a typical, satisfactory breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful. When running back and forth for fittings for tailor-made clothes, the kids were quite safe staying behind at the Van Loi.
Be sure to get up at 5.30 am one morning to immerse yourself in the madness of the fish/food market by the river.

Me and my bf stayed in VanLoi hotel orignally for only 3 nights! When we got there, we were greeted and taken to our rooms! the hotel was gorgeous and peaceful and the plus side is its away from the hustle and bustle! The Breakfast is amazing and well worth it , they have everything for everyone! we loved it! The swimming pool is also very clean and gorgeous. We ended up staying 10 nights and everyday we would have our dinner in the hotel and on the last night the manager gave us a free meal which was a bonus and also gave us a discount on the extra 7 nights we wanted to stay extra! The rooms were immaculate also. We would defo recommend this hotel to anyone!
hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did.

After my original hotel had been overbooked the Van Loi hotel was recommended to me as a reasonable second choice. It didnt take long for me to be grateful that my first choice was unavailable.
The Van Loi is set a little apart from the main part of town over a bridge but is a pleasant 10 minute walk to the centre of Hoi An. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful and my standard room was a good size with a spacious bathroom and very clean.
One of the best things about this hotel is the breakfast terrace on the top floor, and not just for the all round views either. The buffet has an egg station where you choose how you would like your fresh eggs cooked, western, asian and continental fare that would put many a 4 or 5 star hotel to shame so is not a place to stay if you are on a diet. Internet is available next to reception and there is a small pool too. An airport transfer was easily arranged from Danang at a reasonable rate which takes around 40-45 minutes. This is one hotel that I will definitely return to, a charming place in a charming town.
