The best hotel in Hanoi

We chose this hotel from reading reviews on this site and forum posts. We were not disappointed. We chose the deluxe room at $35 per night. The room was a good size - it seemed a little smaller than it actually was as there was a single bed as well as a queen. No problem to us, we used the single to put our bags on. The bathroom is clean and perfectly adequate. There is a flat screen tv and a new flat screen computer with free internet. I had a problem setting up Skype and the staff had it set up for me by the time I returned to my room that afternoon. There was a fruit platter with a packet of potato chips which was replenished daily. Amazingly, there was also an in room safe. It was advertised as having a balcony. Yes it does have one but don't expect to be able to go and sit out there, there certainly isn't enough room for that but it's nice to stand out there and look at life going by on the street below. The hotel is well positioned on Hang Bac St at the intersection of Ma May St. Considering its position at an intersection, there is very little noise. A small breakfast buffet is included in the price. Toast, baguettes, jam, eggs, bacon, noodles.. Staff were friendly and not once were we hassled to buy a tour through them which I have heard happens at many other places. We also booked airport pick up for $14. A bargain in my opinion, especially as it was in a lovely as new 4wd with leather interior. So good that we booked it for our trip back to the airport also. You get all the facilities of a 4*hotel at this little place. It's fantastic value for money. We would definitely stay here again if we returned to Hanoi.
