The bathroom is very dirty, the rooms are very spartan and not great to find your sleep, because it's noisy ... If you don't have ear-plugs, you won't sleep during the whole night.

Great Hotel in Hanoi

My husband and I stayed at the Golden Buffalo for about 10 days whilst based in Hanoi. We made 2 side trips to Halong Bay and Sapa and the bulk of our luggage was stored at the hotel for us which was much appreciated. We were very impressed by the great rooms which were comfortable and clean - and brilliantly cool in the heat !! The staff were unfailingly friendly and went out of their way to help and advise. Because we were such oldies they even called us 'Mummy and Daddy"! Aside from the mattresses, which were very firm, we absolutely loved our stay and are intending to return next year to further explore this lovely country. We will definitely stay at the Golden Buffalo again and are recommending it to anyone who is considering going to Hanoi. In fairness to the hotel, every other hotel we stayed in during our 3 weeks in Vietnam also had very firm mattresses. Thanks to all the friendly staff and we look forward to seeing you next year.
