Our trip to Viet nam was 14 days from Sai Gon, Hoi An, Hue and up to Hanoi. The Duc Thai hotel was my best choice after recommending by tripadvisor. It was more than expected!!! Great for value!!! Picked up airport service in time, warmly welcome at the reception, helpful tour information staff. As conversation with Tom about the summer promotion,we booked 03 days 02 nights for Ha Long bay trip with Indochinal sails with the best price comparing any travel agent I had checked before. I felt really relaxed and pleasant to our trip. Up to this time, we still have lasting memories of the friendly and generous staff that made our trip to Viet Nam so enjoyable and more perfect. We would likely stay here again and strongly recommend this hotel to every traveler.

My family was warmly welcomed at the airport as well as at the reception by friendly and helpful staff. The hotel with good location, near a lot of shops, café and restaurants, good breakfast , ... and especially perfect English speaking staff. The room was so clean with nice street view from window. However, the street is crazy lots of motorcycles, be careful walking across the road. Our family stayed at Duc Thai hotel for 3 nights before booking the Ha Long Bay trip for 3 days cruising and 2 days Sapa trek through Mr Tom. The trip was excellent!!! It was really enjoyable!!! Furthermore, Mr Tom gave us affordable and well organized info about the trip in the South of Vietnam. In general, staying the Duc Thai hotel was best choice during our trip to South East Asia. I would likely to recommend to every budget traveller.

My partner and I, and a friend stayed at the Duc Thai Hotel in Hanoi this July. I booked by contacting the hotel direct via their website and my request was dealt with immediately by the exceptionally friendly and professional Mr Tom. I also booked a 2 night cruise on a luxury junk in Halong Bay through Mr Tom and the trip was fantastic and all that we hoped for. Mr Tom arranged for a driver to pick us up at the airport, the airport is a good 40 minutes away from the Old Quarter so there is a charge for this service. Once we arrived at the hotel the staff were very friendly and helpful and would endeavour to help you with any request. The location of the hotel is great, right in the middle of the Old Quarter so you are just a short walk from all the sights. Even though the hotel is quite small the rooms are nice and big with lovely dark wood furniture. There is a lift which was a blessing and breakfast is included. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and stay there again if I was ever to go back to Hanoi. Also, Mr Tom spent hours helping us arrange accommodation in Hoi An, as everywhere we tried was full, he found us a lovely hotel and arranged a good rate for us. Full marks for customer service to Mr Tom and his staff!

Duc Thai-The best and friendliest

My husband and I decided to stay in Duc Thai hotel for three nights after reading some good reviews from tripadvisor,yahootravel and others... Friendly,clean,warmly welcome,great location,helpful and genuinely interested in what we would like to do in VietNam. Booked tha Halong bay and perfume pagoda tours,that is geat and we felt happy with the services. I will come back and strongly recommend to evry people. Gill from UK

The room was a good quality, but good service is why I really like this hotel. We had a tour and they kept are luggage with out charge. Anytime we needed something they were there to serve us. It was a really good experience Jason88vientiane

We reachexd Duc Thai Hotel upon the recommendation of friends who were already staying there. The staff was immediately helpful, especially since we arrived past 1 in the morning and were weary from traveling. They took our bags to the room and we found it to be clean and hospitable- definitely worth the inexpensive boarding fee. In the morning Mr. Tom gave us a map of the city and directed us to some places we should see- even though we still got lost, we realized the hotel's location is great for pedestrian exploration of Hanoi. Later inteh day, Mr. Tom helped us to arrange two different trips for reasonable prices for the remainder of our Vietnam trip. We were even able to shower at the hotel when we arrived back in Hanoi inbetween our shorter adventures. I am pleased to recommend Duc Thai to anyone coming to Vietnam for the first, second or any time after that!

Excellent Hotel in Hanoi-old quarter!!

Situated in the heart of the French old town of Hanoi the Duc Thai Hotel exemplifies the term “Five Star Service”. I have stayed in hundreds of hotels and the staff of the Duc Thai Hotel overwhelmed me with their kindness and generosity. From helping me plan a day in the city to personally showing me experiences away from the touring crowds, the management made sure I was more than satisfied. The hotel has all the amenities for a cost conscience traveler, including clean rooms, cable TV, air conditioner, and a full breakfast for free. In addition, they operate a full travel agency and can help arrange travel to amazing places like Sapa or flights to other countries/cities. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel especially when I tell you the price! Only $40 a night with no hidden charges. What else can I say? A must stay!

Very diappointed with the hotel and service. Room was clean but too narrow and windowless. However the location was so good.

Our family travel to Vietnam every years to visit my family in Sai Gon but is the first time in Hanoi.I'd decided not to go through booking agents but direct - first time in the new place(I'am vietnamese American).We went thru some of the recommendations by my friends and guests staying in Hanoi. In the end, we relied on Shaw Tracey's recommendations(retired Autralian couple)- emailed ahead - and settled on Duc Thai hotel. Well, we were very impressed with the Duc Thai Hotel. Sure,it isn't a big hotel by any means - but that didn't mean a thing. Accessed by an elevator,nice restaurant,wood furnitures in classical style... Friendly, clean, efficient and genuinely interested in what we were doing in Vietnam without being overly inquisitive. The services is great. We also booked our tours through them - and were happy with the service. The Vietnamese are gentle and obliging - and the people we met at Duc Thai were exemplarily. We would have no hesitation in going back to either hotel if ever we visit Hanoi again. And we strongly recommend the hotel to anyone. Go - you won't be disappointed. Thanks alot,Shaw. Duong Shame.
