| Beautiful but bizarre |
| We were due to stay here for 5 nights but, with limited time on our hands, changed our booking twice. When we got there the owners were not pleased about this and made us feel extremely unwelcome (to the extent that we considered leaving the same night, but instead left first thing the next morning). On the positive, the setting of this place is beautiful, the bungalows are basic but very pleasant, and I can understand why other reviews have been good. However, if you plan eating there, the food is good but not for budget travellers. A beer and main course each made for the most expensive meal we had anywhere in Thailand (it was good but not that good). We felt they should make the bungalows a little pricier instead to reflect the likely cost of a stay there (no fridges in the rooms for your own food). I felt very let down that the only unfriendliness we experienced in our 3 weeks in Thailand was from one of my own countrymen and his wife (joint English / Thai owner). Unfortunately, this place was the only blemish on an otherwise wonderful 3 weeks in Thailand. |
