Top Local Tips for Bangkok

BTS If you plan on hitting several malls in one day, (e.g. Emporium, Central World Plaza, Central at Chitlom, Gaysorn, Siam Square, MBK), a one-day pass would be a good buy. For 120 baht, you get unlimited trips. If your accommodations are near a BTS station, all the more better because you can easily go back home to drop off your shopping bags and head back with free arms. The BTS runs from 6 am - 12 mn so even for your dinner destination, this would be a transportation option.

Transfers to and from airport Use Tour East for you transfers, have to be the most efficient service we have encountered in relation to transfers. Very reasonable and extremely reliable.

transport from airport take a taxi. Go downstairs to taxi stand. Those taxis will use a meter which will cost you about 300 Baht plus about 80 Baht in tolls. Other taxis offering flat rates will be much higher. It's hard to imagine how taxis can even pay for their gas with the low price charged by the meter, but the law requires them to use the meters and only a few unscrupulous & enterprising taxi drivers will refuse to use it.
