| Watch your valuables! |
| Price without robbery is good, location to sky train good, rooms unsafe. Do not stay at Asia Hotel Bangkok (296 Phaya Thai Road)! Someone with a hotel key came into our room during a 3 hour absence and removed all of our valuables. They left the camera and video case so that we would not notice that we had been robbed (I'm assuming they didn't want to be caught with the merchandise with them at work). We reported it as soon as we figured it out the next morning. The security manager just walked me to the key counter and left, I had to ask for a manager, then he came back and we asked for the police they played dumb, but we didn't give up finally they say "you'll have to pay the taxi ride there and back", we said no problem. Now it gets shadier because the security manager and the translation guy are talking in Thai, my husband wrote up the information and the translator translated it to Thai then the police rewrite it, come to find out they added a sentence saying we were not pursing an investigation! So not true and we only found out when a friend had a Thai lawyer look at it. We had to push them every step of the way to investigate it! It was a waste of our time and energy because they don't care and I would suspect they are a few employees involved in this ring of thieves. |
