I booked a Bintan Lagoon Villa for a short break with our 2 young children. I wanted the facility of a kitchen so I could prepare meals for the kids. I dare not use the kitchen area in the villa for fear of disease. Filthy is the best way to describe it, greasy walls, dirty and heavily stained work surfaces, cooker was disgusting. Overall the fittings and furnishings probably looked fine in the 1970's and have not been cleaned since, they are frayed, dirty and stained, the beds are uncomfortable and made me wanted to sleep with my clothes on, the bathrooms have mould growing on the walls. The floors have not seen a mop for quite some time, it would be the ideal place to breed bacteria if you were looking for a biological adventure holiday. Housekeeping consisted of clean towels where the previous days where piled in a heap by the front door for a collection a day later, dirty plates and glasses were also left by the font door from the previous guests and were not cleared for 2 days......
