We stayed at Gaida Wildlife Camp last February. We were in Nepal for a wedding and went to Gaida with 10 other family/friends. We had the best time. The accomodations were clean. The staff friendly and professional. We learned so much about elephants. Beside the wedding this was by far the best part of our trip to Nepal. We traveled there by bus with our friend/guide. The ride from Kathmandu was hair raising to say the least. But we made it there and back in one piece. Our guide while at Gaida was extremely knowledgeable. The food was plentiful and delicious. We were welcomed with tea and biscuits after our elephant safaris. Our guide gave us the best seminar on elephants with a lovely elephant as show and tell. We were even invited to get on the elephant and many of the younger friends/family did enjoy that invitation. We traveled down the river in dug out canoes to the Elephant Mating Camp - seeing the baby elephants wandering around on their own behind a fence for safety was wonderful. Our individual lodges were clean and adequate - no electricity did present a problem the morning we were invited to go out before dawn - our matches did not work therefore what we wore or didn't wear was hillarious as daylight appeared it was evident that some undergarments were missing. I highly recomend this camp, it was immensely enjoyable.
