Though on occassion the rooms are a bit run down at times,(as the hotel is already 12 years old) I was pleasantly surprised that the rooms were recently refurbished and the furniture repainted. Soon the exterior walls will be resprayed as well as I was told. This made my stay more enjoyable as the rooms are more comfortable and cosy. The poor reception for the tv has improved due to the upgrading to digital format ,which is clearer now. But,nothing beats the warmth and the hospitality shown by the staff. To me this is most of the most endearing traits of a well managed hotel pertaining to guest services. The staff does go all out to make my stay an enjoyable one. On occassion, I do give feedback to the management so that they can further improve themselves in terms of guest enjoyment. Yes, I will continue to stay in Mahkota Hotel when I come to Malacca as I find the room rates value for money , the staff friendly and accomodating to my needs.
