I had an amazing time here! The staff were brilliant the food was delicious and my children had an excellent time they enjoyed the sights and the room was unexplainable. I had the most awesome time and would recommend it too anyone.

We stayed at the Nexus Resort for 2 weeks and had a fantastic holiday. The hotel is large, but well laid out and the grounds are extensive with no shortage of sun loungers. Throughout my stay the service was top quality - on a par with any other 5* hotel that I have stayed in. The food was excellent, expecially the Chinese restauraunt which has received praise in the past from an internationally acclaimed chef. The location of the hotel is excellent with a gently sloping beach into the South China sea which is so warm you could have a bath in it. The facilities are all that you could expect from a large 5* hotel, the only drawback being that the very size of the hotel takes away a little of the personal service that you would like. I would definately return to the Nexus were it not for the horrendous journey time to/from the UK.

Just want to share what we've experienced while we stayed in Nexus Resort Karambunai, Kota Kinabalu from May-05 to May-08, 2006 at the Borneo Rooms. The first night we (3 ladies & 2 gentlemen) arrived in the Nexus was about the dinner time, we went to restaurant Penyu to have the seafood dinner buffet, there're only square tables for 4 left so we requested the staff to combine any 2 tables to accommodate us but no matter how we tried, they insisted the tables could not be combined due to lack of space & we could only be sited separately either 2 & 3 or 4 & 1... ??? Anyway, ended up we squeezed 5 people in a square table to have dinner. After a while, the large table behind us was a gang of Malaysians requested to combined 2 more tables & the staff didn't say a word & let them do it! Wasn't it a double standard? We've complaint to the manager but he kept on saying they haven't insisted the tables could not be combined only we haven't tried to make it ourselves! We felt even more upset & angry after talking to the so-called Manager. Name of that manager is Clement! This is our first night... The second night we chose to have the Malaysia food buffet at the restaurant Kingfisher, with an extra order of 'Chili Crab' & 2 Coke Light... this was where the nightmare began... my 2 girlfriends got flow up in the midnight while my husband & other male friends got diarrhea several times the whole night. I felt my stomach were going to throw out in the morning, we did report to the Executive Assistant Manager - Mr. Fritz J. Kluge that morning (May-07) for our food poisoning, it's obvious as the Nexus resort is far away from the down town of Kota Kinabalu, we only stayed in the Nexus for dining & we didn't bring any food from outside, so it's obvious the food in the Nexus was not up to a proper hygiene standard; and it's not only anyone of us got problem but the whole gang of 5 people! Afterwards, The Customer Relationship Manager was sent to follow up our matters but he tried to persuade us if it could be the problem of our stomach not in a good condition to take in some 'Special' Malaysia food... and told us the Nexus Resort was ever the best resort in KK few years ago... just cut the crap, why didn't they just send us a doctor to check how we were? Ended up all of us 5 people stayed in the hotel room for the whole day to get sick, 3 of us were fever for the night & the other 2 still got diarrhea... what they only did just sent us a complimentary fruit basket. What a big thanks to them! We couldn't even take in any food yet! We couldn't wait to leave this hell the next morning even we were feeling a bit better... We were home & still feeling unwell now, my husband & myself need to call sick the next day. Thanks to the Nexus Resort & actually it's our first time to KK, Malaysia & definitely this would be our last time. We will still stick to Bali & the islands of Thailand. This is our first time to have this kind of resort experience just like nightmare.We were home & still feeling unwell now, my husband & myself need to call sick today.
