Top Local Tips for Tokyo

airport limousine bus Using the Airport Limousine bus is the best option to get to your hotel. Check if your intended hotels is accessed by the airport bus. Most hotels do. ITo save time, it is better to choose a hotel with the bus schedule that match your arrival flight time. Thus, Check against your flight arrival time, add at least 50mins for custom & immigration clearance. Match the time against the online airport bus schedule (the site provides detailed bus schedule between hotel and Narita airport) some hotels have less frequent service, so you may have to wait much longer for the bus to your hotel. The bus trip from Narita airport to most hotels in Tokyo is about 90 mins. Same applies to departure, check the bus schedule.

Tokyo National Museum The National Tokyo Museum is located in Ueno. I do not recommend going to the museum. Especially if you are weary about bathroom situation. The bathroom in the museum consists of a hole in the ground. You just got to do your best and aim for the hole the best way you can. The same goes for all the other places in Ueno or around Ueno. If you go anywhere else besides Ueno, the bathrooms were so much cleaner. The only thing good I saw in Ueno was some shrines/temples in the park and you may get to see performers. However, the museum-- waste of time. Just avoid it altogether to save time on other amazing sights.

Airport Limosine Bus Highly recommend taking this from and to the airport. Tickets can be purchased at the Airport Limosine Bus counter at the airport ( to go into town) and at hotel front desks ( for leaving tokyo). It costs 3000 yen one way, a little pricey but you will be ensured smooth operation. There will be attendents at the airport to handle your luggages.i.e. you will not be lugging your bags for too long after you have reached Tokyo. There is a list of hotels these buses will serve; so make sure you ask the hotel if it is on the list.
