I stayed with my husband and daughter in this hotel in October 2009. This is the worst 4 star(so called ) hotel we have ever stayed in. This is really a 2 star or even lower standard hotel. We had a room in the new block (809) for the first two days. The bathroom was stinking. We found that the smell was coming from the drainage hole for the walk in shower. We complained and the cleaners came and poured some dettol down the hole. They also admitted(reluctantly) that this was a common problem in that hotel Half an hour later the smell was back. We stayed 2 nights and one day there. After the second night stay we were leaving and the Guest relations officer spoke to us. We told her about the smell She promised that on our return trip she will see that we get a better room. The room was in the new building and was in a reasonable condition but the floor was dirty and we saw a big Cockroach in the room. Dininig area was horrible. Being a beach hotel it was open and had no A/C. Flies everywhere, Tables not laid, not even a tablecloth. Plates were wet and not dried always short of cutlery. Waiters didn't know how to handle cutlery. No serviettes on tables when asked they will give you one paper towel. As we booked through a travel agent we could not change the hotel and had to come back to this horrible hotel again . This time we were given a different room on the first floor which was much smaller than the previous one. There was no smell though. When they brought the extra bed for our daughter there was hardly any space and her bed was touching our bed. We could not keep our bags flat it was so tight.. Found out later that we were staying in an ordinary room now where as before we were in the exotica. We told them when we were leaving that we will be writing a bad review about this hotel when we get back to london. KR Twickenham London UK

We have been to Goa 17 times and different parts of India. But the Uday Samudra Hotel, The postition, staff, perfect for us. The holiday was perfect from day one to day 28. We are going back in 2 weeks and cannot wait, it is our dream place. Watching the fishermen pulling the nets in a morning and chanting, was a wonderful sight and entertaining as the sun comes up. 0 out of 10 for us.

A very good hotel, staff went out of their way to be helpful and pleasant. The room was clean and spotless. Good swimming pools. Good variety of food in the restaurant (buffet) after the first week tended to be a bit repetitive, but still good. No beach at the time as sea had washed it away. Not the hotels fault. Would stay again. Various types of entertainment on an evening. Good for a relaxing type of holiday.
