This is most, most hopeless hotel in nainital. I made a booking in advance for 07/06/2009 to 10/06/2009 of balcony room and paid full amount and the booking was confirmed by mr. pawan tandon owner of the hotel and when I reached the hotel at about 10:00 p.m. with my family I was told by mr. diwan (manager) that there is no such booking in my name and no room is available. When I tried to contact pawan tandon, hotel staff hesitated in giving the ph. No. of pawan tandon and when I tried his phone (after getting the no.) it was switched off. And I shifted to some other hotel at about 11:45 p.m. with my family. When the owner is such irresponsible, imagine the status of hotel & its staff. We planned this trip and we were told its a hotel with lake view, people it was not anywhere close to any lake... it was in a crowded place with rooms so conjusted and the service was pathetic, this place was stinkin and there was some fellow Pawan this guy was horrible a cheapster!!! We left the place after 2 days and accommodated ourself at Alka , truly an amazing place.

I made a big mistake to book this hotel. It is right in the middle of a busy marketplace, there is no parking outside. The window of my room overlooked an ugly unplastered wall. Inside the room, the carpets was full of stains and torn at places. There were coarse old blankets (with no covers) on the bed. No hot water in bathroom. TV had no remote, seemed to have been bought from a scrapdealer. Staff was utterly discourteous. I could not stand being there even for an hour. Cancelled my booking and went out to look for a decent place to live. I was lucky to find another place (Manu Maharani Lodge) which was very good.
