Best Hotel in Mumbai

My stay at The Leela Hotel was one of the best and I would recommend it to anyone wanting a clean, friendly hotel in Mumbai. There are 3 restaurants, One Indian, One Chinese and one Italian. I had business guests and we had meals in the India and Chinese restaurants, very good food, very friendly staff. There is also a pool where one can relax, the staff is also very friendly there. The business center has 2 computers but had no problem in using it to check my emails or communicate with my company. The room I had was very clean, with very nice furniture and the latest flat screen TV. The breafast room is really nice with a very big selection of food. There are 3 cooks on hand that can make what ever you want on demand. I can only recommend The Leela Hotel, very nice and a well deserved 5 stars rating

Everything was tops... I recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to travel. yes its far from the city centre.... but its the best way to be.... away from daily traffic.... taxis' are at hand 2047....

Appalling- will never stay there again!

I am writing to inform you about my recent stay at the Leela in Mumbai. My family and I arrived there around the 29th Dec'06 to stay for a few days prior to our departure for the UK. We had specifically requested an extra bed since there were four of us, 2 adults and 2 children. This was confirmed by the hotel. On arrival we found out that there were no such arrangements available and furthermore your the staff did little or nothing to assist. Despite several requests, nothing was sorted. My wife and I took in turns to sleep on the couch for the 2 nights we were there. We were absolutely appalled by this treatment. Our misery did not end there. We decided to have our evening meals in the hotel and on both occasions our food was brought out wrong, not what we had ordered! We then had to wait a further 45 minutes before our correct food actually arrived! On our final morning of departure, we sat for breakfast ordered our requirements and 40 minutes later, nothing had arrived. In the meantime, two other tables which had arrived after us had already been served. When I finally complained the staff did not even know what my order was and were playing guessing games as to what they thought my order was, which was simply 2 fried eggs! How difficult is that to accomplish? As a matter of fact, we were not the only ones in the hotel who had complaints. Over our two-day stay there we experienced 3 other separate unrelated incidents where the guests of the hotel were completely appalled by the service and staff had got things wrong. We had just returned from a splendid holiday from Goa and decided to spend our final two days in Mumbai and our whole holiday was ruined by the uncaring incompetence of the Leela Kampinski in Mumbai. We have promised ourselves that we will never ever stay there again and furthermore I will use every avenue available to me to publicise the rotten treatment and appalling service we received at this hotel. Never again! Leela Kampinski you are useless and on the face of it show that you are a top class hotel, you are not I will make it known to my friends and relatives that you are defrauding cheats after clients money and not forthcoming with quality of service. Your pathetic attitude will never let you excel and in the long term will be doomed to failure as they are already well and truly on that path. I have been disgusted and very badly let down by this hotel and vowed never to stay there again!
