Excellent Location
Moti Mahal is one of oldest star hotels in Mangalore with reasonable room tariff.Location is quite good i.e.near market but on a quite road away from noise. It is also near Kasturba Medical college which is frequently visited by Parents coming from other states. Our Room was spacious & comfortable but Bathroom was small with stained walls & worn out wash basin and should have been better.Inside construction is old and rooms could do with some renovation.Service is efficient and courteous. Lobby is a bit of a let down and is a dark atrium with no natural light.Restaurant appears to be popular locally with good indian and chinese preparations.Hotel is equipped with Bar and Swimming Pool which is an advantage at a tariff of around Rs 1700/- per day+ taxes.
Overall a good Hotel at those rates

for India quite good
After staying in every roach infested mosquito filled room for 6 days of Mumbai, Bangalore, Chicmanglor, and Mysore we fell upon Moti Mahal in Mangalore. We took the AC suite on the 5th floor for about $$45 american a night. The room was clean, the staff very helpful, Restaurant in building was very good but I would find someplace else for breakfast. There were no mosquitoes in the room and wse only saw one small roach. Shopping in the lobby was very reasonable and the cleaks in the shops happilly wrote the names of other places in town to find what I wanted. The hot water ran both morning for 3 hrs and evening for 3 hrs. After just one night I felt like a new person and we stayed for 4 days.
