I like the Taj, I've got to admit. Whilst the Hyatt and the Oberoi are nice and I spent several weeks in the Park, the Taj has always been my favourite. Why? The rooms (other than the basic ones) are fantastic, in a way that the Hyatt only dreams of. Great bathrooms, lots of little pots of shampoo and stuff, good sized baths and a separate shower, a little office, and comfy beds. The restaurants are also great- especially the Mongolian BBQ and I love the bar. There's also a great gym and the pool's not bad. There's also wifi all around the hotel. But what really sets the Taj above the rest is the level of service- it really is amongst the best I've ever experienced. To give an example: When going off to Howrah station, I was in a rush, and really didn't think I needed any help, but one of the receptionists found out where I was going and then called the station to check that my train was running on time- without my asking! Truly great service- even when I didn't realise I needed it.
