Poor Reception

Park Hotel has a very accessible location. Room size is ok but beds are a bit small. Good housekeeping service also. Reception staffs (except for a few like Kate, Dave and those assigned in the morning shift of 1/1/2009) were extremely unhelpful, lazy and offers lousy service, always pretending they are very busy to attend to guest's inquiry and request. Aside from this, reception staffs talk in Cantonese language and laughing while the guests are waiting in front of them, very insulting to foreign visitors. Management should always remember that the reception's service and etiquette gives the first impression of the hotel's image and rating. The hotel is undergoing renovation but the concierge's excellent service offset the inconvenience to guests. All staffs at the concierge are very courteous, helpful and service oriented. Very commendable.

Great Room & Staff

I stayed here for 5 days and had a great time. I arrived earlier in the morning and were able to leave my luggage at the front desk. When I came back I got upgraded to a deluxe room. All staff was very helpful. Everything in my room worked. The location was awesome. I walked everywhere from here. To the night markets, ladies market etc. The harbour was about 10 min away and there was lots of good food and shopping around. Definitely would stay here again.

Extremely bad

Staff where friendly but rooms rated a 2 out of 10 at the most. The Breakfast Room was extremely bad the cutlery and plates where all dirty and the kitchen was a walking time bomb. Not a good impression for any traveller on say a first time trip to Hong Kong. Certainly needs a health inspector. Good luck as everyone certainly needs it.

Quite a bad experience indeed

Under no circumstances, I would recommend this hotel. Internet broadband access is not available in non smoking room (maybe a recent completed market survey proved businessmen are all heavy smokers), I've been proposed to change for a smoking room which I did but the smell of rug recently changed was just terrible (at least covering smell of smoke. Last but not least reception charged my room in spite I had a voucher from my travel agency and we've been finally charged twice leading to many complications before being refunded. Quite a bad experience indeed and I've been lucky enough to find a much better room in another hotel at same rate !
