Brrrr! Late April (April 23) through mid-May can be quite chilly! Temperatures can range in 50s and low 60s, Bring warm clother, as well as a bathing suit for those days when the weather allows. getting around tunisia If you really want to see the country, you need to rent a car to get around affordably. I believe our rate was about $250 per week per car. Be careful when driving in the city because drivers are crazy and pedestrians will walk in front of your car no matter how fast you are going. The police are hard to understand there since they will pull people over to check passports occasionally; the best rule I followed was only to pull over if we heard a whistle, if the car is sent after you, or if they step in front of your car and wave you over. They pull you over not necessarily to give tickets (since almost everyone speeds there anyways) but to check passports to make sure citizens of surrounding countries are not transporting weapons into Tunisia.
