Agree price first. Always agree with a taxi driver before getting in the cab just exaclty where you are going and how much, if need be write it on a piece of paper and show the driver.

US Bucks Make sure you bring alot of US Bucks they don't take other currency in Tanzania except for US and thier own Shillings! If you exchange Shillings, make sure you exchange it back to US before you leave town cause other countries won't exchange it for you including South Afirca!

Area to visit Dar is not generally a very attractive city but it does have some places worth a visit. Try "The Slipway" which is an area of shops, restaurants and bars, overlooking the bay to the north of the city.
