Green Pool with frogs and mosquitos.

We stayed in the self catering Swiss style log cabin chalets at Lone Creek River Lodge - Sabi on recommendation from a friend.

The Chalets are well appoineted and sutiable for self catering.

Chalets are situated adjacent to a busy road and railway crossing. Expect logging truck hydraulic brake noises in the evening and early morning.

Given wood construction, downstairs ground floor chalet residents can also expect to hear noises of people moving around upstairs.

All the aforementioned was - on the balance- reasonably acceptable.

However we were very disappointed to find a a pea-soup green pool thick with algea. ("I dont want to swim in a green pool with frogs and mosquitos")

My 3 kids were expecting to make extensive use of the pool - and are very disappointed - little else for them to do on the property.

Management's resopnse was "It has been raining - we will try to fix the pool - but dont expect it to be right today".

My pool at home - in Johannesburg SA also gets rain, and is always kept clear and sparkling in the summer heat. We are careful to check the PH, Acidity and alcilinity carefully when it rains and add more chemicals in hot rainy conditions as needs be. The Lone Creek pool has clearly been neglected, and managements does not seem concerned.

Therefore overall rating: DISAPPOINTED.
