| Filthy Hotel |
|
The room we were given was called the "executive suite," what a joke. It was filthy and didn't even measure up to the standards of a regular hotel room. The furnishings were all soiled. The counter tops were dirty with BLOOD SMEARS on the bathroom counter. There were also blood smears in the public elevators. The bed linen was full of holes and didn't fit the bed. We took all the linen and towels to an outside laundry to wash before we could use them. The shower stall was black with mold. We supposedly had a private patio with views. Well there were no views unless you stood and peered over the high walls. The patio furniture was dirty and the whole area was decaying and dirty. We had to go out and purchase antibacterial cleaning agents and cloths to clean the entire room and bathroom. Since this town does not have any other hotels there were no options for us to leave and go to. The food in the dining room and dismal as was the service. Our room rate included all meals. After just one meal in the hotel we ate all our meals out at local restuarants. Service at reception was "okay" at check-in. Beyond that it was horrible. The staff were not at all invested in the needs of their guests. Telephone service to the rooms for incoming calls is a "hit & miss" affair. A number of times we were told be friends who tried to reach us at the hotel that they were not put through. We frequently saw staff sitting in front of a TV in the public lounge instead of performing their duties. We have since learned that there are a number of holiday apartments for rent in the area. These would be a much better option than the Blue Marlin Hotel which is nothing more than a filthy, decaying structure full of incompetent staff. I have posted pictures on this site of the room that we had stayed in. |

| Very pleasant and accommodating |
|
I would like to thank the manager and staff of the hotel for a pleasant and auspicious stay. We had booked on such short notice, but they were able to accommodate us with no hesitation. The rooms were just lovely and the staff very friendly.
Thank you guys and keep up the great work. |
