1. When checking in, the desk manager took an outside call from a customer and went into a long expalnation with the caller while I was left standing. I was there before the outside caller.
2. I was charged for drinks which I never had. I never used the romm bar and was at a fully sponosred event. I pointed this out and was given the assurance that this would be attended to. However, the Hotel has charged my credit card for this amount.

Top Local Tips for Johannesburg

Butcher's Shop & Grill Eat there! Nelson Mandela Square, Sandton. Booking probably needed. Just do it - you will never regret it - one of the best steaks on the planet. Also recommend the African restaurant at the other corner of the square - forgot the name - owned by same guy - equally good food and service.

20 20 Cricket Go to a 20 20 Cricket game if you've never been to one.

Rent a car from the airport instead of hiring taxis Safe taxis are expensive in Johannesburg, you can rent a car and a GPS unit for 3 days for less than a single taxi journey from the airport to Sandton. It is easy to drive around in SA and with no safe public transport you need a rental car or taxi.
