The hotel claims to be at the Johannesburg International Airport, providing the traveler with free shuttle services to and from the airport. This is inaccurate. I arrived at the airport to find no shuttle service, when I contacted the hotel to find out about transport, I was informed I had to find my own way there (at my own expense). The cab drove past several(at least 4) hotels to get to this one (which is at least 10 min from the airport itself, upon arrival, I was greeted by an unfriendly and combative desk clerk who informed me that the shuttle service runs from 6am - 11pm (if you're lucky). The hotel refused to reimburse my cab fare to the hotel (R150), it failed to give me mywake up call in the morning (thankfully I was awake), denied responsibilty for my transport, finally after much arguing, the same desk clerk, called a cab for me the following morning to take me to the airport, I had to pay R250 for the one they called - this was after I complained about the R150 fare and had told the desk clerk that I was not willing to pay such an exorbitant fare. The clerk told me I would miss my plane if I didn't pay the fare, and that none of this was the hotel's responsibility. Do not stay here.

We spent one night on our way to Zambia. The service was good, facilities more than adequate, the breakfast was outstanding, the staff was very pleasant. They offer free pick bup at the airport and took us back for free. We plan to come back in June of this year and I will stay here again, no question about it.

Great food and staff

I stayed there from the 4th to the 5th of February in Room 239. I came from Zambia for a conference which was aparently rescheduled and we with a group of other delegtes from Zambia were stranded with no money and no place to stay. There was a communication breakdown among the organizers. I must say I was greatful by the way Mr. Musokotwane took care of us by helping us with a telephone to make contacts. The rooms were great and the food was wonderful. I liked the courtesy exhibited by the people on the front desk (Natalie and the other girl) by making us feel in place and happy. I must say I felt at home. Keep it up guys! I look forward to staying at the Airport Grand Hotel the next time I'll be in Jo'burg.

Good for shopping, good shuttle

Were last there in 2003 and the shuttles were good to and from airport and east rand shopping mall, good when heading off into Africa. Convenient and helpful, but ate at East Rand.
